Kindle DX is comming!!!

Well, My K2 - Eowin has been broken. Left-down side is broken but screen is fine(Luck, I guess)

My Kindle DX is comming next thursday or wendsday. Yay! I guess I need to buy warranty for DX, too. DX is really expensive, I want to get an insurance. Everyday, I drop things. My cushions, traditional books, cell phone is fine - but Kindle, is just weak. Especially screen.

I don't think anyone read my eng.blog, so I am going to post anything I'd like to.

I have my korean blog, and it has over 100 visitors per day. I think most of 100 visitors are simply robot. there are not enough reply for 100 people. and, my ex-boyfriend comming to my blog, so I don't want to post about current my relationship on blog. It's very sad- since I love to talk about this (lol) but my boyfriend does not like it. so I guess it's just fine.

With Kindle DX, I can read PDF. that means I can study my TEPS ENGLISH GRAMMAR things on my DX. K2 has PDF-reading-hack thing, but I have already installed Korean-patch (Not especially Korean patch, just for 7 launage pack by igorsk. he's really genius) PDF-reading-hack is not working on my K2. It's kind of sad.

I'm working on My English. I'd like to speak, listen, write, read English properly. I guess my reading is not so bad. My writing is strange. Speaking is bad... Amazon costumer service is kind, Well, When I tell them numbers, They cannot understand. It's sad, again.

So...I'm just thinking. When DX is comming? Next week! next week! I thought DX comming within August. Next week is awesome. My Oberon cover will come within next week, too. I just don't want to get any attention from Incheon airport transport center. I already paid high tax on these things.

My K2 name is Eowin, so what should I name my KDX? Maybe DK? I have plenty of time to think.

Waiting again, for Kindle DX.

Well, now I have my K2 for almost 4 month. It changed everything.

Everything of reading.
Reading habit, reading contents, reading places, reading hours.

Normally, I read before sleeping. I read while I move on subways. I read while eating.
Now, I read in bathroom, on the beach, in the hospital. it's especially good to read in hospital because there is nothing to do. and I don't need a friend to bring me new books.

Now, I read almost in English. Before one or two month ago, K2 just hacked. Somebody who is very bright suggests how to read Korean and several languages on Kindle 2. It's very good. there is a lot of Korean-TXT-material on internet, but that's bad thing. Because We are supposed to pay for people - who wrote, edited, have legal right of novel. Well, there are some people who thinks they are free to use that material. I am not one of them. So I don't have much choice on Korean stuff. Korean bookstores offers very few choice of Ebooks - and they are DRMed. cannot connected with my K2. Arrrgh.

So, I am stuck with English books. I read two or three English paperbooks before. English paperback : Expensive Pricing in Korea, Delivering late. Well. But now, English Ebooks are cheaper on Kindle Store- and other stores.

Now, I read 4 or 5 paperbacks on weeks. Muhahaha. My Reading speed with English book become faster.
I mostly read SF. I got books from Fictionwise, and BAEN. They are free-DRM, and very good. In Amazon, They have some romance books that I love to read. Halliquin site don't offer me Kindle format - they told me "we offer that book with kindle format on Amazon Kindle Store. So go there. " Well, I went to Kindle store.
When I read Korean version - there was not much. but now, I can choose a lot of SF to read - just a lot ! When I go to Korean bookstores, I went to SF shelves and there are 100 or 120 books. most of books are I already read. but now, I have looked Ebook stores and there is many many books. I'm just soOooOooo happy.

I fell in love with my K2. and I don't leave my K2 anymore. I sleep with it, I bring it to my date, I eat with it. (Sometimes I feel like I am binding with My K2.)

Recently, I had a chance to touch Kindle DX..... and it was just so good. I like big fonts, with big fonts I can running on running machine whole 2 hour. with DX, I guess I might be running whole three more hour. native PDF reading will be nice, but I don't have much material on PDF. I guess I will need that feature next year. I'll be graduate student :)

I LOVE my K2.
But I want to have my Kindle DX. I feel like I betray my K2's back-love-binding. Has anybody feel like me? ;)
(Actually I'm ordering DX now....) maybe, my love for Kindle is just infinite so if I have two K, I have enough amount of love for both K. Hmmmm..

Hard to waiting.

I'm waiting for my kindle. It's really hard to wait so long.

Even though I live outside of U.S. I decide to get a kindle. There are some people who got their kindle as present from their American friend on Amazon Kindle Discussion Forum. Well, I'm not that lucky. I'll have a kindle. But since I left U.S, I deleted my U.S. bank account. I totally regreat that for ... 1 weeks? I don't remember. anyway I asked one of my friend who stay in U.S. about making new account-new deposit card-and rent it for me. I'm not sure she'll like it. Well, I don't think it's a good idea to ask someone that heavy thing. But there was nothing I could do.

I found other E-book sites beside Amazon(They'd like to sell Ebook for U.S only) and I'll get some of book from there, but there is one book I deadly love to read and that's only in Amazon. Arrrgh.

I read most of Kindle Discussion Forum, and read Kindle Fan Guide (As PDF) and study about kindle. It's just too hard to wait and I had enough time to web surf. and I have no way to reach Kindle books from Amazon(I guess I need to stay on the fictionwise and feedbooks and webscrpition)

I'm reading Sharing Knife Series by Lois McMaster Bujold. I just done yesterday. I had done read & listen (I'm not sure spell is correct?) with audio-book. It was good. Actually, very good. I had a lot of sympathy for Fawn. I'm not twenty, but I can vividly remember that time- that was hard. It would be really hard to be twenty(or Eighteen) as a youngest doughter of family at the small farm.

At the #1, Fawn met Dag. They like each other.

At the #2, They just married. But it's not like other romances;just they married and have children and sooo happy and it's over. They married, and Dag's family does not like that. Dag's clan councile does not think their marriage is valid. (Well, Not exactly.) So Dag and Fawn are going to travel.

God, I just would love to read #3 Passage ! and #4 will be comming soon, before this spring.

If I'm going to order that book as paper-back or hard-cover style, it would take 2 weeks to come.

There is one #3 Passage on the Fictionwise, but it's not available format for kindle. God. I'm just sad.

I'm look forward to find other way around..struggling.

First art class in USA

Today, i was kind of busy.

• 10:30 am ~ 12:00 am : Volunteer Work at Heritage Library
• 1:45 pm ~ 5:30 pm : TOEFL Class
• 6:30 pm ~ 9:00 pm : One day Art class

There was no break time during classes. I moved to place from place by a bike. it took long time.finally, i late for the art class.
This art class cost 35 dollars, without material fee 15 dollars. It's alot of money to me, but I decided to take a art class before two weeks ago. it looks like great idea. I always have interest in visual arts. Also, It was oil painting what is i would like to try.

Since TOEFL class was over at almost six pm, I ran -_- by a bike...Right foot, left foot, right foot, left foot. I flap and flap on my pedal as fast as i can.
It took only 45 min to get Irvine Fine Art Center, but it was already late. Almost 7 pm it was.I asked a lady at front, 'could i get class even i late?' and she said yes.

so i came into a classroom. there was almost 15 or 14 people.

They already done several part of their drawing, so it was hard to follow up them... -_-;;

And my drawing was really sux. I tried to follow the introduction of Artist, our teacher, but my brush just slide on canvus. it didn't work at all. it worked, but very different from my thought -_-

-_-;;;I heard "you are a genius!" about art when i was...5 years old...
I guess I am not a genius at all...

My painting was awful.

anyway, I enjoyed that time.

Actually, I couldn't enjoy. I had very strong pressure to do well. Maybe next time, I could enjoy with open mind...

Next wendsday, I have one more one-day oil painting lecture.
oh my god, I started to worry about that just now...

Things are just different from what I expect. Maybe it's just rule of life.

Dream.

One of my best friend told me.

"Dream anything what you want to." with sacrasm. also she said, "I was a dreaming girl too."

That dream, I told her was, cross Japan by a bike from Okinawa to Hottkaido.

Why I want to do that? I don't know. I just want to do it.

Maybe one of my friend, who live in Hotkaido, used to be in Okinawa, influenced me?
That could be one of reason, but I have deep passion about it.

I would like to do it within 3 years.

After come back to Korea in August 2007, I must study hard to get Korean Nurse License.

Also, I should get a job and gather money to go Japan.

Am I such a dreaming girl?

Is this just kind of impossible dream?

Nobody can tell me the answer.

Only I can make dreams come true.

I should study English with my whole soul in here, california.

That would be very first step of my dream.

I am doing volunteer work at Heritage Library. I started it before one week ago.

Since i came to Irvine, California, I have nothing to do except ESL class.Well, There is laundry and cooking. it takes alot of time. Even I enjoy housework, I want to do something else.

At that time, I decided to go library. so I can have my own space.

Actually, I cannot say "This library is mine! I own here!" stuff. just..

Our program that send me to USA from Korea, have not much money. That's why program directer managed 10 of us living together in Homestay house.

(living with three other girls in one room is kind of fun. only problem is two bathroom for 8 girls and 2 boys. *do you have any idea how long does it take to a girl done her makeup at morningtime...? it's painful.*)

when i came to library, i found a poster that says ; Library needs volunteers!I applied to volunteer in the library, but they never called me. I thought maybe they don't need me. I really want to do volunteer, but I will stay USA for only 2 month and I was so nervous, my voice was trembling and My English was awful so volunteer manager ask me 'where are you from?'

Luckily, they have a korean librarian, so she translated some stuff for me.
And I got that! Manager Candy ask me when i can come.

I'll go library every monday and wendsday.

Next monday, they gave me the job that make pencil sharpen. In library, they have many yellow pencil.

Manager Candy showed me how she can make pencil sharp with a pencil sharpen machine.
And you know what?

The machine didn't work.

I have no idea! Did I broke it?

I want to ask somebody, but they looks very busy. I just sat still for a while. I have no idea what to do. I couldn't help myself. Maybe the idea, volunteer in a library, was insane? I just came to USA before few weeks ago. I couldn't speak English well, and I couldn't understand most of librarian's talking. I just sait still...I couldn't help myself. I feel very depressed.

I was very happy when they accepted me as a volunteer.

It was just... you cannot imagine that!! I got whole world. I won the lottery. it was so great, so i made special phone call to Korea with international phone card(20$! so expenssive!) to my parents and boyfriend.
They were really proud of me.

And now...I sat still and no idea.

at that time, I found a paper knife. I knew how to sharpen pencil with a paper knife! so i just started that. it took few min to done one pencil, but it was ok.

I can do something well. I want to show them how i do work well.
And Stacy found that and talk to Candy, and Candy came.

"Oh, honey, you don't need to do this. you can use this machine."

"But machine is so noisy... it disturb your working."

"It's ok. it's not disturb us."

Yes, that machine was really noisy. but actually, it wasn't working. but now, Candy started to sharpe a pencil, and it work really well.

Or just the machine don't like me..? no idea...

But finally, the machine start to work ! :D
So i sharpened over 1,000,000 pencil (*^^*) and feel very happy.
I feel so nice. I done something in USA, to help people. :D Now nobody will angry with non-working pencil in Heritage library.
hoho *^^*

And today, Korean librarian said me ; they was very shocked when i used knife to sharpen a pencil. Well.. I didn't know that can shock people.
Most of American do not use knife to sharpen pencil, I guess.
I found out one big different from USA from my hometown, Korea.
hmm ... It's good to know!
